As the title implies, this article is about asking for something (please), thanking people (thanks), and what cannot be inferred from the title - a response to today's DDN article, since there's already a powerful on-line backlash from the administration's comments.
First, please vote before noon today. Your voice is important, and voting is one way to make your voice heard.
Second, let me address the "thanks" piece. Lots of people have been thanking the negotiating team for the work we did to arrive at a negotiated agreement. The team is certainly gratified by this response. But we are also appreciative of you, the membership, for sticking together throughout this traumatic experience. Without strong support, a negotiated solution would not have been possible. If the library had seen cracks, they might not have come back to the table. So this solution was not just the work of the team; it's the work of the whole union. The negotiating team thanks you for your support.
