Pizza Party Winners PDF Print E-mail

As many of you remember, about two months ago I promised a pizza party to the DML team who had the highest number of levy activities participated in – a straightforward count of activity. I invited smaller teams to join together because there is quite a variation in staffing for each branch/department. When sending tallies in, all the teams decided to go on their own.

The winner of the straight count contest is the BAD ADS team! We stopped counting at 83 events participated in when we topped runners up, Miamisburg at an incredible count of 82. We had some very dedicated campaigners who worked very hard during the campaign. They were a great team to work with. Congratulations BAD ADS! Pizza is on its way.

Now the story doesn’t stop here. If we go by a straight count, of course BAD ADS is going to win. Look how big we are and none of the other smaller teams joined together to form a bigger team. Also, you probably wouldn’t want to have worked in ADS over the past two months. I regularly asked people to participate in events. Oftentimes they didn’t want to do the event, but they did because I begged & pleaded. (A crying reference librarian is a sad sight.) So we got some extra counts from troopers who came through when I was in desperate need of help. Anyway, I thought about the inequities of the large department BAD ADS and the tremendous contributions from smaller teams. So I decided to award a second pizza party. I took the number of levy campaign volunteer counts and divided them by the number of the staff in the branch/department. My understanding is that this is similar to what is done for summer reading club. The winner of the second pizza party is Four Trucks & a Crew team, otherwise known as Outreach. They participated in 63 levy campaign activities with only a team of 13 people. Runner up is, again, a great team, Miamisburg. Congratulations to Four Trucks & a Crew!

Well, it’s just one week since election day. I’m so happy that the levy passed. And in my book, we are all winners. I thank everyone who pitched in.

Sincerely,
Bev Barnes
