Some people have been wondering why some of the phone bank dates were canceled. Most of the dates were canceled because they were within 10 days of Election Day, Nov. 3. The purpose of the phone calls being made through Oct. 22 is to find out voters’ preferences and get it entered on a spreadsheet. Then the campaign can do more to encourage the voters who say they will vote yes. If we wait until Oct. 28, for example, to get a voter’s preference, then it’s too late to send them anything. The phone calls also help get the word out by leaving messages about the levy on answering machines.

Towards the end of the campaign, Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, there will be calling for GOTV, or Get Out The Vote.

We did cancel Tuesday night calls, because of location and not having enough volunteers that night. But all the other cancellations were for reasons stated above. The big message is that there are still plenty of opportunities to help with phone banking and the available times are listed below.

ENGLEWOOD INDOOR SOCCER FACILITY - They have 2 phones and there will provide 10 cell phones. If you want , you can bring your cell phone with you and your charger for this location.

Our final phone bank push will be held on Saturday, Oct. 31, 11am-4pm and Sunday, Nov. 1, 11am-4pm. More info about where this will take place will be forthcoming.
