In an extended session yesterday (September 16), we met with the library in a last-ditch effort to arrive at an agreement before fact finding.  We started at 10:00 am and arrived at a tentative agreement around 8:00 pm.  The agreement was hammered out in a very difficult economic environment.  In this environment, we were placed under intense pressure from management as negotiations progressed.

Despite this pressure, we managed to salvage 3% raises in the first two years, with a re-opener for wages and health care in year 3.  The raises and health care were augmented with many other improvements in the contract that will benefit union members as we progress. Details  will be released soon.  We're currently awaiting a hard copy of the proposed contract which will be checked and then released for review.  A vote will be scheduled soon.
