The meeting got underway at 4:30. Very early in the agenda
was the public comment section. I spoke
about the union's commitment to the levy effort, including both a financial element
and our willingness to get "boots on the ground." I also talked about the difference between
this negotiating session and the session in which we negotiated the current
contract. The library has demonstrated a
new willingness to hold dialog, which is a shift that could mark the beginning
of a new relationship between the union and the library.
